Divemaster Internship Weekly Schedule

The Divemaster Internship is a very flexible program. This allows you to work through a number of the areas of development at your own pace.

The following is an example of the type of training you will be undertaking during the weeks of your divemaster internship. Due to the nature of the course and the tasks involved, this is designed to be an example only. The actual schedule you follow may be different.

So what will you be doing?

Week 1

Day 1-3: Fun diving in the Marine Park
Day 4: Free Nitrox specialty certification (no dives involved)
Day 5-6: Theory & Exams
  • The Role and Charateristics of a PADI Divemaster
  • Supervising General Diving Activities
  • Assisting with students in training
Day 7: Free day		    Day 8: Stamina Skills session 1
  • 400m swim
  • 15 minute tread
Day 9: Skills Circuit Part 1
Day 10-12: Assisting on courses
Day 13:
  • Dive site mapping dive 1
  • Rescue Scenario
Day 14: Emergency Assistance plan day 1

Day 27: Fun diving

Day 32-33:
  • Option A: Fun diving
  • Option B: Deep Diver Specialty ($80)
Day 34-35: Theory and Exams

    Day 36: Free day
Day 37: Equipment maintenance Workshop
Day 38-40: Fun dives and Assisting on courses
Day 41: Theory and Exams
  • Decompression Theory and the RDP
  • The Physiology of Diving
Day 42: Leading certified divers practice session with staff

Week 7

     
Day 43: Free Day
Day 44:
  • Option A: Shark dive - get up close and personal with grey reef sharks ($55)
  • Option B: fun dives
Day 45: Volunteering at Marine Park Office
Day 46-48: Leading certified divers
Day 49: Equipment exchange/stress test and the snorkel test!!!
