Instructor Development Course

While learning how to pass the PADI Instructor Exam (IE) is important, it’s more important to learn how to be an effective and compassionate instructor. Our Instructor Development Course is taught by our PADI Course Director, Peter Hughes. Running 13 days, with 2 additional days of prep, we teach you the art of how to successfully guide your students to reach their goals as either new divers or as divers furthering their education. Each day runs from 9am-4pm with a break for lunch. You will learn how to take PADI’s guided approach to teaching both in and out of the water and expand upon that further with the help of Peter and Roatan Divers’ experienced PADI IDC-Staff Instructors for assistance.

Our next IDC will be from October 4th to October 17th, 2018. the Instructor Exam will be here in Roatan on October 18th and 19th.

Meet Roatan Divers PADI Course Director - Peter Hughes

Originally from the UK, Pete has been diving for 20 years and has been a PADI Pro for 18. He has worked around the world in Egypt, Thailand, the Philippines and the Caribbean, and has issued over 1500 student certifications.

As a PADI Course Director, he is now passing on his passion for teaching to the next generation of Instructors. Peter has a great reputation for working as hard as it takes to help his candidates succeed.

Pete was a fantastic Course Director, I couldn’t have hoped or wanted anyone else. This was evident to me during the Instructors Exam (IE). I was extremely well prepared compared to others and Pete was there to support or help me during the whole IE, other Course Directors didn’t.
